A Summer Restoration Technician

 Aski Reclamation LP is looking to employ a Post Secondary Student from May to September.  This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who loves plants, nature, working outdoors, and making a positive impact on the environment.

 Position description

This student position may be assigned to various projects for additional support or enhanced learning opportunities.  The role is designed to be flexible and provide exposure to entry level positions within our environmental consulting company, and ideally peak a students’ interest in continuing their studies in the environmental or forestry sector. 

Work Environment

Aski’s projects are in the areas surrounding Chetwynd, BC.  This is a role that works primarily outdoors.

Major Duties

• Accurately collect site data in environmental, forestry, and restoration scopes of work
• Conduct Planting Quality Inspections and input data into PlantWizard
• Conduct site access inspections and decompaction assessments
• Map sites and plot locations using a GPS/iPad 
• Navigate to and access remote sites
• Report to the Restoration Project Manager on forestry and environmental activities and data
• Office input of collected field data 
• Work with health and safety coordinator to identify new site location risks
• Update ERP plans for various locations 
• Submit receipts and daily tickets (time and safety) to the project administrator on a weekly basis
• Support in project coordination in logistics and execution tasks
• Other scopes of work that may require support include, but are not limited to:

native seed collection, invasive weed assessment and monitoring, and reclamation monitoring

 Requirements

• Class 5 Drivers License with a clean abstract
• Must be physically fit and capable of lifting, walking, bending, and carrying
• Positive attitude, organized and keen to learn
• Able to work independently in the outdoors 

 Willingness to obtain the following Certifications:

• Standard First Aid & CPR
• ATV Safety Training
• H2S Alive
