About the Role

As a fast paced retail store, we want to hire the best and most promising individuals to join our team.  The Shipper-Receiver will perform and/or supervise general physical activities to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment. The Shipper-Receiver is also responsible for verification, acceptance, counting, and inputting into the inventory system of all incoming goods and their condition.  Start Date June 15 – End date September 15.

Duties

• Ships and receives all parts and materials as required
• Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments
• Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries, sorts, and stocks receivables
• Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately
• Updates status of inbound and outbound orders in inventory system
• Resolves discrepancies between orders and goods, such as delays, condition, weight, quality, etc.
• Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude
• Performs general housekeeping tasks within the shipping & receiving
• Ensure proper lifting techniques are utilized
• Takes pride in leading with excellent work-site health and safety practices
• Liaise with suppliers to expedite orders as required
• Performs other duties as required
• Assist with Inventory counts
• Perform deliveries to in town and out of town customers as needed

Qualifications & Skills

• Grade 12
• Understanding of health & safety requirements
• Comfortable in a Microsoft Office environment with proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook and Inventory Management Systems
• Extensive knowledge of major couriers – FedEx, Purolator, UPS, etc. including how to use their respective software packages
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment
• Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job and lifting to 30 lbs
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be fluent in English

Requirements

• Criminal Records check
• Valid driver’s licence, Drivers abstract and use of reliable vehicle for work-related duties

Work Environment

• Manual dexterity required to use computers and peripherals
• Lifting or moving up to 30 lbs may be required
• Hours may include week-end shifts / split shifts
