Position Summary:

The Seasonal Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of field operations on assigned projects.

Working closely with the Project Manager, the Superintendent ensures project activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project plans, specifications, quality standards, and client expectations.

This role oversees field supervisors, subcontractors, and crews, ensuring work is completed to industry standards for quality, productivity, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Start-Up & Planning

  • Work with the Project Manager to prepare for project mobilization and start-up
  • Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and scope requirements
  • Coordinate resources, crews, and subcontractors for field execution
  1. Field Operations & Execution

  • Direct and oversee day-to-day field activities
  • Ensure work is completed according to project plans, schedules, and quality standards
  • Apply and enforce project specifications, including:
    • Quality control procedures
    • Testing requirements
    • Material approvals
    • Drawings and specifications compliance
    • Execution standards and mock-ups (where applicable)
  • Monitor crew productivity and field performance
  1. Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise field supervisors, contractors, and crews
  • Provide clear direction, support, and leadership in the field
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and productive work environment
  • Support conflict resolution and maintain strong working relationships across teams and clients
  • Lead by example in safety, professionalism, and work ethic
  1. Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all work meets applicable industry standards and project requirements
  • Support implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Promote a strong safety culture on all worksites
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations
  1. Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager
  • Provide updates on progress, issues, risks, and field conditions
  • Support coordination with clients and stakeholders as required
  • Assist in ensuring project documentation is accurate and current

Qualifications

  • Certification in Construction Supervision or equivalent training/experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil construction, road/lease construction, or logging-related superintendent roles
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and field execution
  • Proven leadership experience managing field crews and subcontractors
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work across all levels
  • Strong time management and organizational ability
  • Experience working with or within First Nation communities is considered an asset

Working Conditions

  • Seasonal, field-based position with exposure to variable weather and site conditions
  • May require extended hours and travel between worksites
  • Must be able to adapt to changing operational priorities and field demands
  • Work will be conducted in alignment with 4EG safety and operational policies

Compensation:

Competitive seasonal wage, commensurate with experience
